Yeah "1&1" is just a host company. But the whois records for these sites do show a lot of activity on the same dates. For example they show worldrecordrun.com and westwyomingmarathon.com were both created 5/6/2010. And they show worldrecordrun.com, westwyomingmarathon.com, pinehills5krace.com, and sandyspringshalfmarathon.com were all "last changed" on 12/24/2010. Honestly I don't know the ins & outs of domain name records - I just typed in the names at one of the many whois sites - but to me it is weird.

This is amazing stuff. Does anyone know anyone at Marathon Guide so that the faked races can be pulled and put safeguards in place to double check the results from any small race involving Kip Litton?

This story is becoming almost unbelievable, even more unlikely than kip shaving off 3 minutes from his 5k time at the age of 49. I am shocked that a dentist would go to this extent. Speechless.

I predict the next shocker in this tale is that kip's hottie wife leaves him for a letsrun 25 year old 2:35:00 guy.

Seriously though, a guy capable of this is obviously pathalogical and therr must be other similar behavior in the rest of his life.

Btw, i love his facebook comment about how he takes his daily runs "really really easy like 7:00 to 7:30 pace". Even that comment is total BS.

Could you be so kind as to explain to those of us who are not totally up on internet tech stuff the significance of the wwm.com etc websites having the same IP addresses - I interpret that as the WWM, pinehills website were created by the same person at the same computer/network site.

What is the sig of all those other website which include kl's dental site? Did he create all those web domains?

Getting back to the 'why:' Could someone or multiple people be trying to pull off a charity scam by raising money through a dean karnases-like stunt (running multiple races ...etc) with the money being ultimately funnelled somewhere where the donors did not intend - if you get my drift.
I mention this because there is not sufficient prize money even from snickers pulblicity to make it workth it. Other likely reason is sheer narcissism. We will likely never know, hypothetically speaking of course.

4) Official website? Wow - something appears! With an e-mail contact! And just a list of results. Nothing else.
5) Google listings? athlinks.com and the 'official' website only.

And did this major city marathon that had a whopping 26 'finishers' appear in a comprehensive listing of Georgia half-marathons for 2010-11? NO.

I'm a newspaper reporter. Don't have time to do an exhaustive search, but I did do a public records search using databases on six of the "runners" -- I selected them randomly -- from the WWM and none of the six exist.

Wow, when it was just about cutting marathon courses and shaving some minutes off of his time there was nothing terribly unique about this story. Just another William Jurena/Chandra Bozelka story. Now it appears he has made up entire races. Wow, that is just a whole other level of crazy. Fascinating. Can't wait to see the conclusion of this.

Another detail: the Sandy Springs Half Marathon results says it was held at Hammond Park. Google maps show this park to be about 200 yards x 200 yards at most!

My goodness, Kip Litton appears to be a sociopath. Sane people simply do not make up entire races. And we all thought his cutting corners was bad!
